University College London, the London School of Economics and King's College are all in the process of applying to the privy council for powers to award their own degrees. This would mean a break off from their head university, the University Of London.

Imperial College today (9/12/2005) served notice that it will leave the University of London, sending shockwaves through England's third oldest university.

oh i am in deep shit right now. most of you wouldn't know why i am even mentioning these universities but that only probably means you are not that close to me.
