saturday was spent training for the pool competition finals the following day.
sunday was history in the making. it was the ultimate pool challenge organised by K-pool @ bishan junction 8. top player walked away with a car. thats the biggest prize ever given out by anybody for a single pool competition. and so i was one of the lucky 128 contestants who made it pass the preliminary rounds. btw all these 128 players are of the highest playing standard. to make it to the 128 is no easy feat at all. you have to beat 15 other players in the preliminary rounds to earn a spot in the final 128. many national players participated too. won my first match 3-0. made it to the top 64. 2nd match i met a national ranked player. was leading him 2-1 but lost 3-2 eventually. sigh i let myself down. i really should have won him. nevertheless it was an experience playing in a shopping centre in front of so many people and having a person refree my games. learnt a whole lot from the competition. thanks to bryan and jin xiang for coming down to support me!
the bad news was that i lost my cue after. sigh. basically my friends and i decided to go to town to play pool after our games. then because they were taking cab and there were 5 of us, i told them to go ahead while i took a train down with my friend who came to support me. and my other friend was being nice so he offered to carry my cue for me since he was going in the cab. and somehow he forgot to take the cue out of the cab. sigh why must i lose my cue when im at my poorest state. i have no freaking money to buy a new cue although i need one urgently. how am i going to find $500? sad case mann =(
