HAPPY NEW YEAR 2005!

okay the above was just typed for formality sake. i am currently not feeling any happiness in me. anyhow here's a brief recap of events over the past few days.

30th december. sam and va's farewell party @ 55 portchester avenue otherwise known as sam's house. =) cabbed down with cliff tim and jinghow. we got there really really late on the pretext that we wanted to make a grand entrance. haha. drinks, card games, listening to i pod, chilling out at the balcony, crap talk session, boys vs girls IQ challenge. sums up pretty much the entire night. it was very meaningful nonetheless.

31st december. last day of a very bad 2004 for me. pool @ potblack in the afternoon. countdown @ zouk. was heartening to note that they donated $5 for every ticket sold that night to aid the tsunami victims. at least i knew i didn't pay $38 for nothing. some interesting happenings amidst the usual. clifford vomited a bucket full. jinghow was "sleeping". hahaha. caught a glimpse of the owner of zouk. lastly, zouk was raided! that was stunning. and of all days it has to be on the first day of the new year. these policemen sure know how to spoil the party eh? left us all stranded outside grand copthorne hotel. got a call from dith and we decided to all meet up at newton for supper. for the first time in my clubbing history, we were UNABLE to get a cab outside zouk! since when was there a shortage of cabs in the wee hours of the morning?! =X eventually made it down to newton. so it was me cliff jinghow dith and marns. after much deliberation, we decided to get to my place to collect my car. then it was a smooth early morning drive all the way down to changi airport.

sat at delifrance whilst waiting for others to arrive. note that at this point, we are all suffering from different degrees of sleep depravation. sam arrived and we decided to adjourn to burger king. camera flashes ran wild as picture after picture was being taken. precious seconds ticked by and finally a phonecall came. sam announced that she had to go to the departure gates. for a moment, everybody froze in silence. thoughts kept flowing through my mind. it is always never a good feeling to see a friend leave. but i guess in life, we've just got to do what we've got to do. tears trickled down freely and we were all solemn. i was crying inside me. a goodbye hug and that was it.

sam : though i never really got to know you that well, i wished i did. through these few short months of our friendship, i have learnt a lot from you and much more to thank you for. so many things have happened over this short period of time and i admit i have my shortcomings. i am sorry for them. but i know you will always look beyond that. thank you for being there for me when i needed a listening ear and thank you for helping me see a different perspective of things. you have my word that i WILL listen to each and every word/advice you have for me. rest assured that all the memories of the fun times we spent hanging out together will be etched deep in my heart. the holidays would have never been the same without you. to me, you will always be remembered as a person who continuously bring joy to others around you. your enthusiasm and selfless nature just makes you so perfect. as you embark on your next phase of life, i wish you all the very best in your future endeavours. you will be dearly missed. ( p.s. give me your no. when you settle down, ill call you because starhub has free IDD to the U S of A! =p )

the future is uncertain. 2005 promises to be yet another interesting year. lets just wait and see...
